Cafe Año: "Whatever you crave for, we got it!" (and more!)

Cafe Ano's facade

Crispy Chicken Skin - crispy chicken chunks and probably the best one we've tried

Chipirones - baby squid sauteed in olive oil with garlic and bay leaf that "tickles" your palate

Crispy Kare-Kare - their take on a classic that we truly enjoyed; a bursting experience of crispy meat, veggies and creamy peanut sauce; a must-try

Pata Bawang - a signature dish and their take on another classic; its Crispy Pata but with lots of deliciously olive oil fried garlic and other condiments

Lechon Kawali sa Bagoong Kamias - another signature dish; a genius combination of Lechon Kawali and Binagoongan but the twist is the use of Kamias (english: camias ginger lily; french: carambolier bilimbi), a pantropic firm sour fruit we enjoyed during childhood'; *hats off to you Chef!*

Corned Beef Sinigang - their version is served with chunks of meat and lots of veggies; the taste is a combination of sweet and sour that is truly classic Filipino Sinigang

Isda ni Juan Tamad - the name and look says it all; its crispy fried boneless Tilapia preferred by the Juan Tamad in us; no more picking and slicing, just savour!

Bangus Ano - another signature dish; big boneless Bangus (Milk Fish) fried in olive oil

Angus Beef Steak - the use of Angus Beef is definitely a treat in itself

Refreshing and fresh coolers and fruit shakes

Canonigo - big serving of fluffy and creamy Spanish dessert served with Mango balls

Suman sa Lihiya - Filipino rice dessert sans the banana leaf wrapper; served with deliciously light sweet sauce

Mango Turon - the shell is light and crispy and the Mango filling surprisingly intact firm and fresh; served with a creamy sauce that in our thinking, may also be a separate dessert

Maruya ala mode - Filipino dessert of fried banana topped with a scoop of ice cream

Original Pancit Puti by LSS Fastfood

Never heard or had Pancit Puti? Well then read on and get in on one of Makati's best hole-in-the-wall foodie hangouts.

LSS Fastfood had humble beginnings but their food especially their original Pancit Puti's goodness spread through word of mouth.

Pancit Puti is not your usual "pancit" because as implied its "puti" or "white" mainly because its not cooked with the usual soy sauce. That's about what we can gather because the rest of the process remains a trade secret.

It has a unique light taste, garlicky but no "umay" factor. Paired with their special Puto and its a guaranteed "meal of happiness" any time of the day.

Though its a modest, out-of-the-way place Makati employees, students, etc. flock to LSS any time of the day for a taste of their good food and unpretentious vibe.

So foodies, do visit LSS Fastfood's Original Pancit Puti. You should also try out their other dishes like Dinuguan, Tocilog, etc.
