Ya Kun Kaya Ortigas

Ya Kun Kaya Toast

I missed the first food bloggers event and was happy to receive another invite from its owner Richard Co (became the second bloggers event because I was asked to invite my foodie friends as well).

If you think that toast is just for breakfast, that coffee is just for breaks and soft-boiled egs are not your thing..well, you must try Ya Kun Kaya Ortigas first.

Kaya is a jam much like our Coco jam but its smoother and made with Pandan leaves. Spread over a perfect toast with choices of butter-sugar, chocolate-butter, peanut butter, french toast, cheese or even Milo (yes, the chocolate drink!), eat it with a side of soft-boiled egg with soy sauce and then pair it with Milo Frostyz or the very popular Iced Lemon Tea and its a flavorful experience bursting with happiness!

They also have Hot Mocha, Hot Chocolate, Ginger Tea, Japanese Green Tea and a variation of Coffee Tarik or pulled coffee.

My personal favorite is Milo Toast with Milo Frostyz or Iced Lemon Tea.

*Ya Kun Kaya Ortias is located at G/F FERN Bldg., Escriva Drive (former Amber Ave.) corner Gen. Araneta, Ortigas, Pasig (or Escriva cor. Shaw blvdPasig)

Jollibee made Tuesday a Sundae for fellow Thomasians (UST)

Jollibee at UST

Last March 16, we joined Jollibee at University of Santo Tomas (UST; my high school and pre-law alma mater) to give Thomasians a special treat: Free Sundaes!

The new Jollibee Sundae variants are: Chocolate, Black Forest and Rocky Road Brownie.

Everyone deserves a satisfying break. Whether you’re sitting at a desk eight hours a day, working in the field, or keeping house for a family, you have to indulge yourself when you can and soothe those stressed-out nerves.

So, why settle for a short trip to the water cooler or a 5-minute cigarette break? Make the most out of your time. Treat yourself to a Jollibee Sundae now and enjoy a break that is truly and deliciously satisfying.

Gulp® literally to your 2010 candidate with 7-Elections

ulp 3_1gulp 3_2gulp_6

This coming election, Filipinos can have a drink and vote with it, too!

Beginning March 10, 7-Eleven Philippines will be giving the entire Filipino nation a voice in the upcoming Presidential elections through the 7-Elections.

Locally, 7-Eleven hopes to highlight the Filipino’s Presidential options by making sure that all the Presidentiables–the top five, namely Manny Villar, Joseph Estrada, Richard Gordon, Noynoy Aquino, and Gilbert Teodoro alongside fellow candidates Jamby Madrigal, JC de Los Reyes, Nicanor Perlas, Eddie Villanueva, even the voter’s right to abstain, are represented. The idea is to engage the greater public in this national initiative anchored on the value of freedom of choice and underscore the importance of responsible voting.

For the duration of the campaign, anyone who wants his vote to be counted can just visit any 7-Eleven store and pick up a 16oz Gulp® Cup that bears the colors and image of their Presidential bet. And we’re making it easier and accessible for Filipinos to let their voices be heard by making it available in over 450 stores.

To ensure the veracity of each vote, each Presidentiable is assigned a specific barcode, which 7-Eleven cashiers will scan upon purchase of your Gulp® cup. All votes are carefully audited and may be verified online at www.7-election.com.ph where the public can also view updates on detailed polling results, to give the public regular updates on the Presidential race. Voters may even share their vote thru Facebook.

And because Every Gulp® Counts! Filipinos can literally drink to their candidate.
